Stoke evacuated due to elevator fire

I think that the electrical fire in Stoke just goes to show that the residence hall is in some need of renovation (Elevator shaft fire evacuates Stoke, March 27). Out of the numerous fire alarms that have occurred in the building this year, very few have been because of an actual fire. Because of this electrical fire, only one of the two elevators is accessible and in working order. Because of this incident, the university should put more thought into necessary renovations which would make residents' life easier. Due to the incapacitation of the second elevator, it is only a matter of time before the only remaining elevator is down for the count. The sheer size of Stoke and the laziness of residents deters them from using the stairs. While day-to-day activities of students do not necessarily require them to use the elevators; housekeepers and the residents moving heavy objects will need the elevator to carry out their tasks. The fact is, when the only remaining elevator breaks down, students and housekeeping staff will be left up the creek without a paddle. What will happen when the semester ends, move-out day begins if there are no working elevators?

News boring, polls not

I find TNH to be a little boring for the most part. I say this because of articles such as "Stocks surge on bank plan, rise in home sales" and "February Home Sales Rise as Prices Sink". These articles are way beyond me and I have no interest in them. However I do like the online polls and I think we should be seeing more of those in TNH. They are much more grasping than a lot of the articles.
