Men's Cross Country: Three-peat! Wildcats win third consecutive conference title

Seniors Nick DeCrescenzo, Matt O'Connor and Ben Jenkins and junior Josh Kearns all placed inside the top 10 to lead the UNH men's cross country team to its third straight America East title - and eighth in 11 years - Saturday afternoon at Oregon Ridge Park on the campus of the University of Maryland-Baltimore County.

The Wildcats' 42 points bested Stony Brook University (64), Binghamton University (89), Boston University (120), UMBC (123), the University at Albany (154), the University of Maine (158), the University of Vermont (170) and the University of Hartford (267).

DeCrescenzo, O'Connor and Kearns finished fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively, while Jenkins came in ninth. For finishing inside the top 10, the quartet was named to the America East All-Conference Team. DeCrescenzo finished the 8,000-meter course in a time of 25 minutes, 51.8 seconds, while O'Connor crossed the finish line at 25.54, Kearns came across at 25:57.2 and Jenkins finished at 26:00.5.

Senior Brent Powers and juniors Wesley Dinnan and Wesley Moseman finished in the top 20 of the 76-runner field at 15th, 17th and 18th, respectively. The Wildcats return to action Nov. 15 at the NCAA Northeast Regional at Van Cortland Park.
