Women's Rugby Shuts Out Univ. of Maine Farmington The UNH Women's Rugby team traveled to Farmington, Maine and dominated a tough University of Maine Farmington squad. The Wildcats cruised to a 17-0 victory despite tough, wet field conditions and severe rain. Julia Broyer led the scoring with two tries. Danielle Beddia scored the Wildcats other try and Jess Smyser added two points with a field goal.

Cycling Team Continues to Race Strong in Mountain Biking Season The cycling team recently hosted The 2005 Collegiate Mountain Bike Race at Kingman Farm, Madbury, N.H, and traveled to Ascutney, Vt., to compete in a race hosted by Dartmouth College. The Kingman Farm Race featured teams from UMass, UMaine, Northeastern, Dartmouth, Vermont, Syracuse, Connecticut, Boston University, MIT, St. Michaels, Wentworth and Brandeis. Chris Farmer won the Men's B Cross Country Race. Jeremiah Hawkins and Jay Hydren finished third and fourth in the Men's C Cross Country Race and Colum Lang won the Men's D Cross Country Race. In Ascutney, the UNH team was part of another strong field that included teams from UMass, Williams, Northeastern, Dartmouth, Vermont, Syracuse, Connecticut, Boston University, MIT, St. Michaels, Wentworth, Middlebury, Plymouth State and Brandeis. The Wildcats were led by Matt Piotrowski who finished 14th in the Men's Cross Country A Race, Chris Farmer who finished fourth in the Men's Cross Country B Race and 13th in the Men's A Downhill Race and Josh Kissinger who finished 11th in the Men's A Downhill Race.

Men's Crew Team Competes in Textile River Regatta The Men's novice crew team sent 45 members (one of the largest UNH Men's novice crew teams ever) to compete in the Textile River Regatta on the Merrimack River in Lowell, Ma. This race was host to a large and very competitive field featuring over 200 teams and 3000 rowers. All of these novice rowers started racing in September with no prior experience. Despite being new to the sport the team finished very strong and placed fifth, seventh, 13th and 14th, earning 12 points towards the overall regatta. The Men's varsity team also had a strong showing in this event.

Baseball Team has 5-0 Stretch The baseball team had a great week going undefeated with a 5-0 record. The Wildcats defeated Hesser College 13-1, New Hampshire Technical Institute 5-3 and Central Maine Community College 18-3. The squad also swept a double header against University of Maine Orono 6-1 and 4-3. Lincoln Lynch and Pat McLean each had two wins from the mound during this stretch. The offense has continued its hot hitting lead by Chris Goodwin, Tim Rheaume, Mark Demmitt and Bob Osgood who had the game winning hit against Maine Orono breaking a 3-3 tie and bringing the week's record to 5-0.

Sailing Has Continued Success in Regattas The sailing team has continued its travels to the New England Regattas. The team finished sixth and eighth at the Metro Series Three Race hosted by Harvard. This regatta was an especially strong field featuring teams from Vermont, Boston College, Tufts, MIT, Roger Williams, Brown, Boston Univ., Northeastern and several other schools. Laurel Gaudet, Paula Kelley, Shannon Gray and Susie Gagliardi competed in the Women's Olympian Trophy J22 Regatta in Boston Harbor, where they finished fourth in a tough field with some of the best all-women's boats on the eastern coast.
