From "The Late Show with David Letterman," "The View," and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," to Durham, N.H., actor and comedian Adam Ferrara is flexing his comedic muscle at UNH this Saturday. Ferrara is a two-time nominee for comedian of the year by the American Comedic Awards. Ferrara's résumé includes the television series "The Job" and "Rescue Me," as well as the feature films "Definitely, Maybe" and "Dark Descends."

One of the more interesting things Ferrara has done as a comedian is his performance for all 58 of the Democratic senators at their annual caucus. Sarah Moore of the Campus Activities Board described the process of choosing Ferrara.

"Last semester we had a pool of candidates for comedians to bring to campus," she said. "Many of our were comedians found through [the National Association of Campus Activities], which is held in November that all Cabbies are welcome to attend. We all vote to see which one we like the best."

She said she hopes to do a campus poll in order to pick next year's campus comedian.

UNH junior David Ferrara, winner of "The Funniest Person on Campus," and comedian Rob Paravonian will be opening for Adam Ferrara at 9:00 p.m. in the Granite State Room.

Tickets for undergrads are $5, while regular tickets are $7.

When asked about Ferrara, some students said they know him from television.

"I think its good that he is coming here," said junior Sean Mossey. "I've seen him on Comedy Central a lot. I might attend the event."

However, most students had never heard of him, and said they don't plan on attending Saturday night's festivities.

One student remarked he would rather see Dennis Leary, who Ferrara stars opposite of in the television show "Rescue Me."

Despite the possible lack of interest, though, Moore is excited for the show.

"Adam is a great entertainer and it is going to be a great show," she said. "We're looking forward to working with him."
