WFNX Best Music Poll 2008- May 10th Boston: Bank of America Pavilion- ------------------------------------------------------- WFNX presents a Saturday of some of the best music 2008 has offered so far. With acts such as Bob Mould, Amanda Palmer (of local favorite Dresden Dolls), Presidents of the United States of America, and headlining act Death Cab for Cutie, concert goers should expect a day filled with tons of rock accompanied by light jumping and head bobs. Seating is reserved, but varies from covered to lawn/patio seating. Tickets are $38 and can be bought at fnxradio.com.

Kanye West Glow in the Dark Tour- May 15th - Mansfield, MA: Tweeter Center ------------------------------------------------------- Following the success of last year's Graduation, Mr. West is embarking on his summer tour across the country with a little help from some of his friends. When Kanye rolls into the Tweeter Center on the 15th he'll be joined by other popular artists such as Rhianna, Lupe Fiasco, and recently reunited N*E*R*D. Seats vary from general admission pit, covered seating, and lawn seating, and range in price from $30 - $86 through either Ticketmaster or Live Nation. Premium parking is available, but free parking is also available if you're willing to walk.

Kiss Concert 2008- May 18th - Mansfield, MA: Tweeter Center ------------------------------------------------------- For those readers who are more pop oriented and love jamming and singing along to songs on the radio, the Kiss Concert is the right place to join in the fun. This year's concert is an all day event starting at 2 p.m., with featured acts Leona Lewis, Baby Bash, Cascada, Flo Rida, Boys Like Girls, Sean Kingston, Sara Bareilles, Ray J, Metro Station, The Jonas Brothers, Ferras, Natasha Bedingfield, Wyclef Jean, and, if that wasn't enough, The New Kids on the Block will also be performing! That alone is worth the ticket price, which varies from $35 - $200 ($35 for general admission lawn seating). Tickets and further info on more acts can be found at kiss108.com

Bonnaroo - June 12th - 15th - Manchester, TN --------------------------------------------- Bonnaroo is certainly one of the more unique festivals anyone will ever encounter. Taking place in Tennessee on a site that has no name (it's only described as a 700 acre farm), the festival not only offers music, but movies, comedy, and many more attractions. This year Bonnaroo presents over 100 acts on several different stages including Pearl Jam, Metallica, Sigur Rós, and veteran Bonnaroo act, Ben Folds. Regular tickets for all four days are on sale now for $244.50, however VIP tickets and hotel packages can also be purchased. To purchase tickets, as well as to see all the acts and attractions at the festival this year, go to the festival's Web site, bonnaroo.com.

R.E.M. - June 13th - Mansfield, MA: Tweeter Center --------------------------------------------------- The alternative '80s band, that everyone can admit to liking at least one song of, is another one of the many acts coming to the Tweeter Center this summer. As an added bonus the show also features indie rockers, The National and the well-known group Modest Mouse. It's a definite must-see for anyone who is a fan of rock music. Luckily, for concert goers, this is one of the less expensive shows at the Tweeter Center with tickets starting at $25 for lawn seats and going up to $75 if you're willing to pay for covered seats that are closer to the stage. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.

Coldplay - June 23rd - New York: Madison Square Garden ------------------------------------------------------- It seems like an extravagant thing to travel all the way to New York to see a band like Coldplay, but there's a special catch to this show. In honor of their upcoming album, Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends, Coldplay has decided to play this free, yes that's right, free show at Madison Square Garden. All you have to do to get your tickets is enter a contest via the band's Web site, which has yet to be announced. For more information and to enter the ticket contest, make sure to check coldplay.com as frequently as possible!

Feist - July 8th - Boston: Bank of America Pavilion ---------------------------------------------------- For those who simply couldn't get enough of Miss Feist's adorable hit "1234" last year, she's making her way to Boston to entertain audiences in person, rather than on an iPod commercial. No touring mate has been announced yet, but Leslie Feist will easily fill the night with her brand of enchanting music and her gorgeous voice. Tickets recently went on sale (so there's still a shot at some good seats) for either $25 or $35, and can be purchased through either Live Nation or Ticketmaster.

Pitchfork Festival 2008- July 18th - 20th - Chicago: Union Park ------------------------------------------------------- Looking for a reason to randomly travel to Chicago for a weekend? Well, this year's Pitchfork Festival just might be the perfect reason. This year the Internet magazine has assembled a weekend of performances that will appeal to lovers of indie and hip hop. Friday night will please Flavor Flav fans as Public Enemy performs their album It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back, while Saturday features acts such as Animal Collective, Jarvis Cocker, Caribou. Sunday presents the likes of Ghostface Killah, The Apples in Stereo, and Spoon, just to name a few of the 40+ acts that will be performing that weekend. Tickets are priced at $30 for one day, $50 for two days, and $65 for the whole weekend (which is practically a steal compared to other festivals). For information on all the acts performing, as well as tickets, go to pitchforkmusicfestival.com *Keep in mind that this particular festival does not allow tents.
