Hugh Jackman is back in the role of the most famous of all of the X-Men in the X-Men comic books-incidentally, as the character who was never supposed to be the lead-Wolverine.

The movie explores the life of James Logan (Jackman), and how he came to be the 'Wolverine' we know from the first "X-Men" film. "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" opens during Logan's childhood and follows him through his life up to his connection with the never-mentioned Weapon X program-at least not mentioned in the movies.

And all of those who were disappointed with the lack of their favorite characters in "X-Men" should be happy with the plethora of new characters that are added to this movie, including Wraith, Silverfox, Deadpool and the ever-popular Gambit (played by will.i.am, Lynn Collins, Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Kitsch respectively).

"X-Men Origins: Wolverine," once again proves that Hollywood still manages to pervert the comic book industry. It won't go unnoticed that some of the characters involved in the Weapon X program had nothing to do with the Weapon X in the comics. However, the screenwriters finally managed to address the story of Wolverine's claws in this prequel. In "X-Men" it appeared as though the claws were given to Logan, while in the comic book series the claws were made of bone strengthened by a coating of the alloy Adamantium. Those who were fans of the comic books will know what I am talking about.

All that aside, this PG-13 movie is likely to entertain millions of people tonight. With Ryan Reynolds playing a small part where he can once again be a witty tough guy like he was in "Blade: Trinity," Liev Schreiber playing the arch enemy of everyone's favorite hero and Hugh Jackman being Wolverine again, this movie should give you 107 minutes of the same old stuff you love (just with what may be a bigger budget).
