iPhone 6S Plus vs. Samsung Galaxy A9

Samsung came out with a new a 6-inch phablet, dubbed Galaxy A9 and now the competition with the iPhone 6S Plus is on. Given the fact that the latter Apple device has received some good reviews, we’re curious to see how these two size up.

Design and display

Apple’s iPhone 6s Plus resembles the iPhone 6 Plus in terms of chassis and design. It is 7.3mm thick and it weighs 192g. Samsung Galaxy A9 on the other hand rocks a superior metal body in comparison with other Samsung gizmos. As far as thickness, it is 0.1mm and weighs 8g. The design part is not that impressive as there is still a need for a more creative input from Samsung, so iPhone 6s Plus wins this round.

As far as display, the iPhone 6s Plus has a 5.5-inch screen with Retina HD Display and a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels while the Galaxy A9 measures 6-inch and because the screen is an AMOLED one, this makes Samsung’s device easier to work on, thus it is regarded as phablet.

Chipset, RAM and OS

The iPhone 6s Plus is juiced by an A9 chipset and 2GB RAM whereas the Galaxy A9 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset paired with 3GB RAM.

As far as OS, the iPhone 6s Plus runs iOS 9 and users can enjoy features such as Siri and the Proactive Menu while the Galaxy A9 runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Because this device came out after the Android M launch, it will definitely X-out some important features of the latter OS variant.

Battery, shooters and financial value

The battery is definitely an important factor to consider and the one included in the iPhone 6s Plus might embitter some users, if we size it up with the one incorporated in the Galaxy A9. Apple’s iPhone 6s Plus packs a 2750mAh battery, a weaker version than the one included in the iPhone 6 Plus.

The Galaxy A9 packs a 4000mAh battery and it also has the Quick Charge 2.0, which of course will be held in high regard by most users.

As for the shooters, the iPhone 6s Plus comes with a 12MP iSight back end camera, the 4K element and a front-facing 5MP shooter. Samsung packed an 8MP front snapper while the back one is a 13MP camera.

Are you curious about the financial value of both of these devices? Well, if you want the iPhone 6s Plus, you’ll have to pull $750 out of your pocket for the 16GB model and $950 if you want the 128GB version. Steep, right?  However, the new Galaxy A9 device might be priced somewhere around $500-$600. Apple may have dizzying costs, but the features are worth it. In the end, it’s your choice.
