Samsung Galaxy S6 vs. LG G4

Today we’re going to compare two high-end smartphones: Samsung Galaxy S6 and LG G4. In this article, you will find useful information that will help you decide which one between these two devices is worth spending your money on.

Displays

The Samsung Galaxy S6 comes with a 5.1-inch super AMOLED display that’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and it supports a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 557ppi. On the other hand, the LG G4 comes with a bigger LCD display of 5.5-inch that’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and it supports a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 538ppi.

Processors, GPU & RAM

Samsung Galaxy S6 comes with an Exynos 7420 chipset that’s formed from a quad-core Cortex A57 clocked at 2.1GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 clocked at 1.5GHz. The processors are backed by 3GB of RAM, which many users think that’s way enough.

The LG G4 comes with a Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 chipset that’s formed from a dual-core Cortex A57 clocked at 1.82GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 clocked at 1.44GHz. The LG G4 features 3GB of RAM, which makes it a pretty powerful device.

When it comes to the graphics cards, the Galaxy S6 features a Mali-T760MP8 GPU, while the LG G4 features an Adreno 418 GPU.

Cameras

The Galaxy S6 comes with a primary camera of 16MP that features LED flash, autofocus, face detection, geo-tagging and a secondary camera of 5MP. The LG G4 supports a primary camera of 16MP that features LED flash, OIS, touch focus, geo-tagging, smile/face detection and the secondary camera supports 8MP.

Storages

The Galaxy S6 comes in three storage variants of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. Unfortunately, the device doesn’t feature a microSD slot, so you will not be able to expand its memory.

On the other hand, the LG G4 has an internal memory of only 32GB, but it supports a microSD card to expand its capacity up to 128GB. With other words, you will have more space with an LG G4, as long as you have a decent microSD card.

Batteries

The Galaxy S6 features a non-removable battery of 2550 mAh, while the LG G4 has a 3000 mAh removable battery. Even if the LG G4 has a bigger battery, we remind you that it comes with a 5.5-inch display, which will eat more juice than the 5.1-inch screen that the Galaxy S6 is equipped with.

Prices

The unlocked variant of the Galaxy S6 32GB can be purchased at a price of 600 dollars from Amazon, while the LG G4 costs 50 dollars less. If you are a person who tends to store a lot of movies, photos and data on his device, we suggest you to go for the LG G4. At the same time, the LG G4 comes with a better secondary camera, which means that you can take way better selfies than with the Galaxy S6.

The downside of the LG G4 is that it comes with a 5.5-inch display, which might be too big for people who have small hands.

Buying a phone without microSD and a removable battery is fine if you buy a phone every year or two. Otherwise it’s foolish. Between those two, the LG is the clear choice.

I agree, and there was no mention of the displays slight curve or the cameras manual mode. Another mistake the author made is the fact that the G4, supports up to 2TB of storage not 128GB.
