Google Earth Pro is a an intuitive mapping program that used to be priced by Google at $400 a year but now, it’s available for free and here is how you get it.

Chances are you have used Google Earth at some point and you were amazed of the way you could explore satellite based 3D renders of the Earth, Moon and certain buildings. Well, you can find the same thing in the Pro package plus more. The Google Earth Pro comes with many extra functions that are very useful for many companies. For example, they are useful to construction companies because they can use it survey any location on Earth.

Otherwise, you can use it to calculate the distance between two points, measure areas and tower or mountain heights, export hi red images or import data spreadsheets and so much more.

If you want to use the package, here is how you can get it for free.

First of all, you’ll have to download and install the Google Earth Pro package. You will do this by going to the Google Earth homepage and choosing the Explore option. After that you’ll have to click on the blue button that says Download Google Earth Pro.

If you have a PC, all you have to do is to open the .exe installer and it will do its thing. On the Mac it’s slightly more complicated: you’ll have to open a DMG file and then you’ll have to run a PKG installer.

After the installing process is over, Google Earth Pro will prompt you to enter your email and License key. The email address is a pretty simple demand but you’re probably wandering what the License key is. Well, it’s ‘GEPFREE’.

Lastly, if you’ve used Google Earth in the past and you log on to the Pro package with the same gmail address, you’ll be able to view all of your previous work on Google Earth Pro.
