PC Insiders on the First Ring have received Windows 10 Redstone 2 Preview build 14931, which has been released a week after build 14926. This is a small released which doesn’t bring updated for the Mobile users, but the improvements have been made to Feedback Hub and Maps app. In addition, Insiders are able to send SMS with Skype Preview, and Microsoft has brought native support for USB Audio 2.0.

According to the change-log, Build 14931 for PC has fixed two issues: the one that caused users to experience a black screen when signing out and when they switched to another user account, being unable to log into that account; the other issue was related to built-in Windows 10 apps such as Calculator, Alarms & Clock, and Voice Recorder, which didn’t work after installing a new build.

Unfortunately, this build includes a few issues and they’re related to Narrator and Groove Music. When navigating to the progress bar while a song is playing, Narrator continuously speaks the progress of the song update and every second, it shows the current time of the progress bar, preventing you to listen to the song.

You will also notice that Oracle VM VirtualBox will crash on launch and you will get a bluescreen error because of Tencent apps and games. Optional components will work again only if you “Turn Windows features on or off”, then scroll down, check them and reboot the device. Also, there is an issue with the keyboard, as you won’t be able to use tab to navigate the Settings app, and instead, you will use arrow keys.

Mobile Insiders will need to wait a little longer for the release of the new build, because Microsoft has found some issues in Preview build 14926. Dona Sarkar said that “We are continuing to investigate two issues that came up with last week’s flight of Build 14926 for Mobile. After upgrading to Build 14926, some Insiders reported that the pin pad is no longer visible to unlock their phone even after rebooting the phone and some phones lost the ability to use their SIM card. In both cases, a hard reset of resolves the issue. Based on the feedback we received from Insiders, we have decided not to release a new Mobile build this week until we get fixes for these two issues.”
