Frosh Faces - Kathryn Uggerholt
In a segment new to The New Hampshire, any volunteering freshman who wants to talk about their first experiences at UNH can write about them here in the Frosh Faces blog.
It is designed to be informative for incoming or prospective Wildcats, humorous or compassionate for older students who connect with the stories and a positive space for first-year students who want to get some published writing under their belt in a more informal setting.
This part of the Frosh Faces series is Kathryn Uggerholt's story.

I'm Level 13 on Fishville
11/18/09 8:16 PM
Honestly, the reason I'm writing this blog right now is because (1) I haven't in a while, though I feel like a champ because I am the only one of the four that actually does, and (2) I reached level 13 on fishville in facebook and the fish I just put in my tank don't grow for a day and a half. So fishville is no longer a distraction from work for me. I have a lot of week this work too. I just finished up some statistics homework early so I can meet with my t.a. tomorrow to make sure I'm on the right track. After I go to a meeting I intend on writing my communications paper so I can finish that early too so I can meet with my professor to go over it. So I technically chose to be this busy but it's so beneficial to meet with professors and t.a.s that it is insane. I'm so glad I do because I...10/29 My life since 10/8

I kind of feel bad for not being more on myself to write this but it is a semi-good thing that I don't have much time to be trolling the internet. I swear I'll write more often than every few weeks however!! Anyway, recap of stuff since then: 10/8-10/13 So this was Columbus Day weekend so I went home for the weekend. All of my friends were home then, even my friend that goes to school in Florida. It was AWESOME to see all of them. I even worked that weekend, Market Basket represent! But that was sooo weird. Firstly, two of the five managers had been transferred so there were two new managers. Second, a bunch of people had gone to college so a lot of people there were new. Last but not least, since I left there were people replacing me so I couldn't even spend much time in customer...10/8 It's Been a Long Two Weeks
10/8/09 6:51 PM
It has really been quite the two weeks. It's not like a ton has happened, but I've been swamped with work, sickness and Bruins games. I'm starting to get into having to write papers for classes. As we speak, I have another window opened with a paper that I have to finish by tomorrow. I don't have to finish by tomorrow actually, it's due Tuesday but if I finish it tomorrow I can go over it with my professor. That's what I did with my other paper and it really helped me so I want to keep up with that for sure. Then last Monday, in my terms at least, I died. I woke up at 3 am and had absolute vertigo. I couldn't sit up or turn on my side and began to diagnose myself with every disease in my family. I called and woke up my mom who told me I was indeed NOT dying and I don't know...9/23 This is Not the Sims University
9/23/09 10:40 PM
It’s been almost a month since I first stepped foot in Christensen Hall and since then I have come to find it is nothing like The Sims 2 University expansion pack. But I guess that is kind of a good thing. I’ve encountered quite the assortment of people here and have already had quite the experience. Some people are super friendly and some people aren’t ready to give up their high school clique. There’s also other people's annoying habits I’ve had to get used to but will still complain about. At home, I could yell at my siblings to clean up their mess or hang up a sign instructing them to do something that should really be common sense. However here, I’m going for this friendly thing and I figure that complaining would really get me no where except on a...9/14 - In the beginning....

Well this is another first for me, like my last two weeks have been full of. They have been quite surreal and I have stopped once or twice to be like "Wow, I'm in college." Things are just so different. I've been been away from one of my parents for more than two nights in my entire life, never was out of my town for more than a week, and I have never shared a room with anyone. I'm really close with my parents and being away from them isn't as hard as I thought it would be. I've called them every now and again to chat becuase they obviously wanna hear what I'm doing and make sure I'm making friends instead of sitting in my room watching the NHL network. It was good to see them when I went home for labor day weekend but it was weird. If I had any form of homesickness, it was...
