One of the many benefits of living in New Hampshire is that students are in driving distance from the mountains, and currently, the ski season is in full swing. Since tickets to larger resort mountains can be close to $75 dollars, I have made a list of mountains that have great ski deals for you skiers and riders out there who fit into the category of shamelessly poor college students. So for the love of bombing down a hill at full speed, read on!
Western White Mountains
Cannon: Tuesdays and Thursdays: one ticket for $40 or two for $66, Wednesdays: N.H. residents ride for $33 per ticket.
Bretton Woods: Wednesday: two tickets for $66.
Waterville Valley: Any day with a college I.D. one for $57, Mondays & Fridays: two for $67.
Eastern White Mountains
Wildcat: Sunday afternoons: one ticket for $25, Wednesdays: two for $65, Thursdays: ladies ride for $45, and free on your birthday!
Attitash: Visit your local BP gas station and pick up a discount coupon for skiing--$10 off admission or two tickets for the price of one on Sundays till March.
Black Mountain: Tuesdays: ladies ride for $20 per ticket, Wednesdays: ski half the day for $15 per ticket, and Sundays: N.H. residents ski for the afternoon for $10 per ticket.
Cranmore: Sunday mornings: one ticket for $49, Sundays: two tickets for $90, or "The Weekender", which is two days of skiing for $90.
King Pine: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays: two tickets for $44, and Sunday afternoons: one ticket for only $25.
Dartmouth/ Lake Sunapee
Dartmouth Ski Area: On all weekdays: one ticket for $25.
Mount Sunapee: Mondays: one ticket for $42, Tuesdays: ladies ride for $49 per ticket, Wednesdays: two tickets for $64, and Sundays: N.H. residents ride the afternoon for $38 per ticket.
Lakes Region
Gunstock: Mondays: two tickets for $56, Wednesdays and Friday nights: one ticket for $25, and Saturday nights: one ticket for $30.
Ragged Mountain: Mondays: ladies ride for $29 per ticket, Tuesdays: two tickets for $52, Wednesdays: bring a "carload" of people (up to 8) for $99, and Sundays: N.H. residents ski the afternoon for $25 per ticket.
Monadnock Region/ Merrimack Valley
Crotched: Tuesdays: two tickets for $44, Tuesday nights: college students ride for $19 per ticket, and Friday nights: college students ride for $29 per ticket.
Granite Gorge Ski Area: Every Saturday: from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. ride for $35 per ticket.
Pats Peak: Saturday Nights: ski 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. for $39 per ticket.
McIntyre: Monday–Friday: $20 per ticket, Weekends: $29 per ticket.
