According to Bruce Mallory, the university provost and vice president of academic affairs, the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) and the University of New Hampshire Administration met for mediation on March 13 and made much progress toward reaching an agreement on a new contract.

Mallory said that the university would issue a press release later today. It will state that the negotiations occurred on March 13 and will explain exactly where the AAUP and University stand in reaching a contract agreement.

Mallory said that due to confidentiality he couldn't make a statement on the current negotiations before the press release is issued. However, Mallory said to expect good news to be announced later today.

"The mediation that took place on March 13 was very productive," said Mallory.
