Hey Everyone!

My name is John Banks and I have recently been elected as your new Student Body President. My dear friend Stephanie Saporito is your new Student Body Vice President. I cannot tell you all how excited we are to be here today. Stephanie and I just wanted to introduce ourselves and say "Hi!" We have an office in the MUB room 119F. Our office is inside of the big Senate Office on the first floor (room 119). We both want to get to know each and every one of you individually on a personal basis, so if any one of you ever wants to poke your head in and say "hi", introduce yourselves, bring up an issue, tell us a joke, or anything else, please do not hesitate. If you want to bring up an anonymous issue or anonymously tell a joke, etc. We have a suggestion box outside the Senate Office which we encourage everyone to use. Stephanie and I both want everyone to feel 100% comfortable approaching us for any reason. We also have a facebook group, "UNH Student Body President and Vice President." Join it!!!

Stephanie and I would like to give a special shout out to everyone who voted this election. You all are AWESOME! It is so important to be involved in what happens around campus, and I have every intention of representing your voice. To everyone who voted: there was a record turnout of voters. You all rock!

One more thing: We are currently looking for interested and motivated individuals to join Student Senate. More specifically, we are looking for students that are interested in taking a leadership role where you can really have a strong impact on your school and community. Stephanie and I are hiring Council Chairpersons to serve on Student Senate. Being a UNH Student Senate Council Chairperson is a great way to get involved and make positive change happen. If anyone is interested, we urge you to apply. No senate experience is needed. There are applications in the Senate Office (MUB room 119), or you can e-mail me for an application or more information. GET INVOLVED!

Okay, we have to sign off for now, but we every intention of continuing this column once a week throughout the entirety of next year. Keep an eye out for updates on issues, important goings-on around campus, and anything else Stephanie and I feel like writing down here.

Until then, good luck on finals! Study hard. Make good grades. Have a good summer. And be safe!

The Obama administration is asking applicants for White House jobs for links to Facebook and MySpace page, as well as a list of aliases or “handles” used on the Internet. If you were being vetted for any job (entry-level or otherwise), how confident are you in your web presence?
