University of New Hampshire runner Catherine Parker (Westford, Mass.) was named the America East Women's Cross Country "Performer of the Week" for the second time this season on Monday. Parker previously won the award on Sept. 6.
The junior harrier finished third at the Murray Keatinge Invitational in Orono, Maine on Saturday in a time of 16 minutes, 53.60 seconds. It was the fastest time ever run by a UNH woman on a 5K course. Parker was also the first America East runner to finish the race, pacing the Wildcats to a second place finish as a team.
The next meet for the UNH Wildcats will be Oct. 7 at Franklin Park in Boston when they compete in the New England Championships.
