Wildcat Notebook: Uitti Honored

Freshman setter Kate Uitti of the University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team was named Rookie of the Week by the America East conference, announced on Monday afternoon.

Uitti, who won the award for the first time in her Wildcat career, helped guide the Wildcats to a 2-0 record on the week with wins over Hartford on Friday night and a 3-2 victory against Maine on Sunday at Lundholm Gym.

She totaled 113 assists on the week, averaging 11.30 assists per game. Uitti finished the match on Friday with 52 assists and 11 digs, and then set a career-high with 61 assists and 17 digs against the Black Bears on Sunday.

She ranks first on the Wildcats roster with 760 assists and a 10.13 per game average. In America East action, her assist per game total ranks fourth and her 11.39 assist per game total in conference play is third best among conference setters.

UNH (10-15 overall, 5-5 America East) returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 11 vs. Binghamton. Match time at Lundholm Gymnasium is 1 p.m.
