Junior Brice Paey won an individual title on the final day to the lead the UNH men's outdoor track & field team to a third-place finish at the America East Championships at UNH's Reggie F. Atkins Track & Field Facility on Sunday.
The Wildcats finished with 127 points to place behind the University at Albany (190) and Binghamton University (139).
Paey captured his third-straight title in the shot put with an IC4A-qualifying throw of 18.10m. Graduate student Jeff Kaste and freshman Cameron Lyle placed third and sixth, respectively, with marks of 15.33m and 15.07m
The Wildcats' 4x800-meter relay team of seniors Ben Jenkins, Matt O'Connor and Marc Ouellette, as well as freshman Corey Duchemin, finished sixth in a time of 7:49.67.
On the women's side, juniors Erica Jesseman, Camille Quarles and Kaitlyn Dugan, as well as the 4x800-meter relay team, all submitted second-place finishes on the final day to lead the UNH women's outdoor track & field team to a third-place finish at the America East Championships on Sunday.
The Wildcats finished with 133 points, to place behind the University at Albany (197.50) and the University of Maine (172).
Jesseman finished second in the 5,000m in a time of 17:33.74.
Quarles placed second in the triple jump with an ECAC-qualifying leap of 12.15m. Quarles was fourth in the long jump on day one with a mark of 5.60m.
In the heptathlon, Dugan placed second with 4,547. Dugan was also fifth in the high jump with a mark of 1.58m.
The Wildcats' 4x800-meter relay team of senior Tracy Howell, freshman Darcy James, junior Jennifer Racine, and junior Allison Letourneau placed second in an ECAC-qualifying time of 9:08.52.
The 4x400 squad of juniors Chelsey Canavan and Megan Donohue, as well as sophomores Kaitlin Kwiecien and Brittany Verville finished in an ECAC-qualifying time of 3:51.06.
Senior Ashlee Lathrop finished third in the discus throw with a toss of 41.24m. Lathrop won her second-consecutive hammer throw title on day one with an ECAC-qualifying toss of 54.67m
Donohue finished third in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:02.34. Donohue was also fifth in the long jump on day one with a mark of 5.50m.
Both the men and women return to action May 7-8 at the New England Championships on the campus of Northeastern University.
