The UNH synchronized skating team is in preparation for the biggest competition of their season, having qualified for nationals after bringing home the bronze medal at the East Coast Sectionals, beating rivals BU, BC, UMass Amherst, among others.
The team has now qualified for nationals in all 11 of its seasons as a club sport, with only the top 12 collegiate teams in the country being eligible for nationals each year.
They also secured a gold medal at the Colonial Classic Skating Competition in January, and look to do the same this Saturday against Boston University in the New England Challenge Cup at BU.
The 17 skaters on the team are gearing up for a show this Sunday as well, which introduces their competition program to their home audience for the only time this year.
The annual National Send-Off Show, "Rock Legends on Ice," is being held this Sunday at the Whittemore Center. The show is from 1-3 p.m. and costs $5/adults, $3/students.
This exhibition features the UNH SST, as well as their competitive guest skaters from the New England area.
Watch the team as they perform at the peak of their season, less than a week away from the United States Synchronized Skating Championships in Minneapolis, Minn.
