What to Expect for The Sims 4 for PS4 and Xbox One

TNH · May 24, 2016 · 1 Comment

If you’re a big fan of The Sims 4, you probably already know that the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game are still far away from reality. One reason for this is that developers Maxis and The Sims Studios reportedly are having a hard time porting the game to console. This is disappointing to many fans but, as some people point out, it can be taken as a good thing since it means that the developers are taking their responsibilities seriously and aren’t rushing to release a half-baked product just to gain sales.

Still, the fact is that the console versions of the game won’t see the light of day any time soon. There are rumors that the PS4 and Xbox One versions might be released late this year or in 2017, although they have to be taken with a grain of salt since there are no official announcements yet.

Another possible reason for the delay is that Maxis, The Sim Studios, and The Sims 4 publisher Electronic Arts are planning to release the game’s PS4 and Xbox One versions with all the expansions available in the PC version. It’s not yet clear if they’d wait until the last DLC for The Sims 4 is released before launching the console versions of the game. It’s also unclear if the expansions would be free for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game or if players would have to purchase them separately.

If this rumor turns out to be true, The Sims 4 PS4 and Xbox One versions would have the Get to Work Expansion Pack (which adds the Doctor, Scientist, and Detective careers and allows people to start a retail business) as well as the Get Together Expansion Pack (which adds clubbing, dancing, and DJing features). They would also have the Stuff Packs, such as the Luxury Party, Cool Kitchen, Movie Hangout, and Romantic Garden Stuff Packs.

Of course, they’d get the Game Packs, which include Outdoor Retreat and Spa Day as well as the recently released Dine Out DLC. The latest Game Pack gives sims a wide range of dining out options, allows them to build their own restaurant business, and even lets them create outrageous recipes. The Sims 4: Dine Out will also introduce “Simstagram”, a social media platform that allows sims to post photos of their food.

I have always preferred Sims games on consoles because that is how I started playing them and it’s much easier to view a large screen rather than a smaller computer screen. I am very excited for the release!
