Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 vs. Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro – Which One Is Better?

The second generation Galaxy J5 arrived in April, while the Galaxy J3 Pro was unveiled in June. We will compare the specs of these two mid-range smartphones and you will decide which one is worth buying.

Designs

The Galaxy J5 2016 measures 145.8×72.3×8.1mm and weights 159 grams. Its back looks like it’s made of metal, but actually, it’s made of plastic and has a brushed effect. The good news is that it has an aluminum frame, which is resistant to drops. On the other hand, the Galaxy J3 Pro is slightly slimmer and lighter, as it measures 142.2×71.3x8mm and weights 139 grams. Its design is similar to that of the Galaxy S7, which means that it has a glass and metal casing.

Displays

The Galaxy J5 2016 features a Super AMOLED display of 5.2-inch that supports a resolution of 1280×720 pixels at 282 ppi. The Galaxy J3 Pro has a smaller Super AMOLED display of 5-inch with the same resolution, which gives a higher pixel density of 294 ppi.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

Both phones are powered by a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, which is backed by an Adreno 306 graphics card and 2GB of RAM.

Storages

Both devices come with an internal storage of 16GB which can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card.

Cameras

The Galaxy J5 2016 sports a primary camera of 13MP that features autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection and a secondary camera of 5MP. The Galaxy J3 Pro has a weaker primary camera of 8MP that features LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and a secondary camera of 5MP.

Batteries

The Galaxy J5 2016 is powered by a removable battery of 3100 mAh which is better than the removable battery of 2600 mAh that’s found on the Galaxy J3 Pro.
