Sony Xperia Z5 Best Tricks and Tips to Enhance your Experience

TNH Staff · September 20, 2016 · Leave a Comment

Sony has released this flagship in October 2015, being a smartphone with a 5.2-inch Full HD screen protected by a scratch resistant glass, and which has glass on its back, as well. It’s powered by a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 octa core processor backed by 3GB of RAM and it’s planned to be upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat. This phone has great specs, but using a few tips, you will improve your user experience. In this article, we’ll tell what changes you can do to your Xperia Z5, to fall in love with it.

Change Themes

The Xperia Z5 allows you to change the home screen wallpaper, the appearance of many buttons, the accent colors and UI elements, and if you don’t like the themes that come pre-loaded, you’re free to download another one and use it to customize the look of your phone. In order to change the UI theme, just hold your finger on an empty spot while you’re on the home screen and when the pop-up menu appears, choose Themes.

Get Rid Of Bloatware

Not all apps can be uninstalled but some of the pre-loaded apps can be deleted – for example PSN Network, Lifelog etc. If you want to remove unwanted apps, go to the app drawer and hold a finger on an empty area until you will see an X symbol that will be associated with every application that can be uninstalled. Disable them by going to Settings > Apps > All.

Enable Display Modes

By enabling Smart backlight mode in Settings > Display, the device will use its sensors and will know if you’re using the phone or not, so if you’re reading an article without touching the screen, it will not turn off. If you enable Glove mode, you will be able to control the screen when it’s cold and you’re wearing gloves, while the double tap to wake feature will allow you to double tap on the screen to wake the phone from stand-by.

Increase Image Resolution

When you want to take a photo for the first time using the Xperia Z5, the default resolution is set at 8MP, but the primary camera has a 23MP sensor, so if you want to shoot at this setting, tap the three dots in the camera app and open the settings menu.

Enable Stamina Mode

Want toe extend the battery life of your Xperia Z5? Then enable Stamina mode in Settings > Power Management and when your phone will not be in use, background apps will be frozen.
