Motorola Moto G4 Plus vs. Motorola Moto G4 Play – Best Specs and Features Comparison

Motorola has released its Moto G4 Plus and Moto G4 Play in May and August 2016. Today we will compare these two smartphones and let you decide which one of them suits your needs better.

Designs

The Moto G4 Plus measures 153×76.6×9.8mm and weights 155 grams. On the other hand, the Moto G4 Play is slightly thicker and lighter as it measures 144.4x72x9.9mm and weights 137 grams. Both phones have a matte plastic back, a subtle dimple with the M logo printed inside. Above it there’s a vertical strip camera module design, while the Moto G4 Plus has a square button below the screen, which hides the fingerprint scanner.

Displays

The Moto G4 Plus has an IPS LCD display of 5.5-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 401 ppi. The Moto G4 Play comes with a smaller IPS LCD display of 5-inch that supports a lower resolution of 1280×720 pixels at 294 ppi.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The Moto G4 Plus features a Qualcomm MSM8952 Snapdragon 617, a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.5GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, an Adreno 405 graphics card and 2GB, 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The Moto G4 Play comes with an inferior Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, an Adreno 306 graphics card and only 1GB or 2GB of RAM.

Storages

The Moto G4 Plus has been released in three internal storage variants of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB while the Moto G4 Play comes in two internal storage variants of 8GB and 16GB. However, you can expand the storage on both devices up to 256GB using a microSD card.

Cameras

The Moto G4 Plus sports a primary camera of 16MP that features dual-LED flash, phase detection & laser autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, auto-HDR, panorama and a secondary camera of 5MP. The Moto G4 Play has a primary camera of 8MP that features autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama and a secondary camera of 5MP.

Batteries

The Moto G4 Plus is powered by a non-removable battery of 3000 mAh, which is slightly better than the removable battery of 2800 mAh that the Moto G4 Play comes with.
