Every year, a plethora of the latest smartphones become available in the market for smartphone fans. While there will be numerous models to choose from, not all will meet the strict standards of skeptical smartphone users. Here are some of the Android models that made it to the list of the best smartphones in 2017.

Samsung Galaxy S7

Samsung Galaxy S7 is the first on the list, with a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display and an Exynos 8890 processor. Aside from being dust and water resistant, the S7 has a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Internal storage is 32GB while storage memory is expandable via a MicroSD card and the RAM is 4GB. Although the rear camera has been downgraded from 16 megapixels to 12 megapixels, the enlarged camera pixels make up for it.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

Another smartphone on the list of the best models for 2017 comes with a 5.5-inch display and is powered by octa-core Exynos 8890 like the S7. Battery life is impressive. It is a non-removable Li-ion battery with 3,6000mAh and this device boasts of weather-proofing feature. The front and rear cameras have 5MP and 12MP, respectively while the RAM is 4GB. Internal storage is 32GB. This phone has a metallic base with a glittery appearance, glossy glass finish and curved edges.

OnePlus 4

OnePlus is relatively new in the smartphone industry, offering its first OnePlus phone almost three years ago. This year, Android fans will be seeing a new model that boasts of improved features. Around May or June OnePlus 4 will be launching. This smartphone is rumored to be more powerful than its predecessors with a Snapdragon 835 processor. The 5.5-inch full HD display will now be Quad-HD. Moreover, a 21 or 23 MP camera will come with the Android phone.

Samsung Galaxy S8

Another model for the S-series is rumored to be released in a couple of months. If this pushes through, fans will have the chance to own an Android phone deemed to be the fastest among the rest. While the type of processor has not been confirmed, there are talks that this will definitely be top of the line. An expected change is in the design where this one is said to be without a Home button. Conversely, there will be interesting features included, such as, fingerprint scanner, a 6GB or 8GB RAM, a larger touchscreen display with Quad-HD or Ultra-HD and USB-C.

Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL

Google has been known to be one of the most popular search engines for years and continues to hold the spot. But a few years ago, Google took it up a notch by introducing a smartphone. Today, the company has already a number of smartphone models, wheeling out around two a year. For 2017, Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL are two of the best phones to beat. Features include a 5.5-inch display, a 12 MP rear camera and 8 MP front camera, SnapDragon 821 processor and internal memory of 32GB.

To make the right choice when shopping for a new gadget such as smartphones, it helps to have an idea of what features these phones have. So, if you are setting your eyes on Samsung or a Nokia phone, you might want to start with Samsung Galaxy S8 and Nokia Edge.
