Fallout 4 already came with great visuals, but Bethesda wanted to push the limits further and it worked on a new update for PC that will require more advanced hardware, but which will also take advantage of PlayStation 4 Pro’s new hardware. Update 1.9 is ready to be released and it will be available for Xbox One players, as well.
The last time when Bethesda has released an update was in November for all three aforementioned platforms, but there were many unsolved issues that bothered players. And they were wondering when they will receive a new update that will focus on fixing these problems. Fortunately, their wait will end soon, as Update 1.9 for Fallout 4 is about to hit not only the PlayStation 4, but also the new PlayStation 4 Pro, and it will enhance the game’s graphic and lighting features. This means that the native resolution will be increased to 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, Godray effects and draw distance have been enhanced, and trees, grass, objects and NPCs will no longer just appear in the scene, but they will be noticed from far away.
Fallout 4 for PC will receive a high resolution texture pack that will require 88GB of space, and a super computer with Intel’s Core i7-5820K or better, at least 8GB of RAM and an Nvidia GTX 1080 (8GB) GPU. The minimum requirements for Fallout 4 on PC are: Windows 7/8/10 64-bit OS, Intel Core i5-2300 (2.8GHz) or AMD Phenom II X4 945 (3.0GHz) processor, 8GB of RAM and Nvidia GTX 550 Ti (2GB) or AMD Radeon HD 7870 (2GB) GPU, as well as 30GB of free space. “If your system can handle it, the Commonwealth will look better than ever,” said Bethesda, advising players to “Give it a shot and if you need to return to the original textures, you can disable them within the game’s launcher menu.”
Fallout 4 was released on November 10, 2015 for PC, PS 4 and Xbox One.
