Windows 10 Update – Is Your Mobile Device Going to Get It?

TNH · February 5, 2017 · Leave a Comment

Good news for Windows 10 mobile users, because the Windows 10 Anniversary Update has already been out. In fact, it has begun rolling out with some additional features and improvements intended for Windows 10 mobile devices.

You can check this on your phone by simply going to your phone settings, namely Settings > Update & Security > Phone Update > Check for updates. However, this would vary depending on the model, region, model, and manufacturer, not to mention the service provider and the limitations of the hardware.

If you have not received the said update, then you have been left out of the necessary features, which include Cortana and Windows Ink. This would provide advanced security features, faster and more accessible Microsoft Edge browser, and some better gaming experiences.

Here are a few things that you ought to do if you have not received the Windows 10 update just yet.

  • Simply go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update

You can see from the list on the left hand side a panel the Windows Update option. Just click on it to check for updates manually. The Anniversary Update appears as Feature update to Windows 10, version 1607. Simply click on the update and it would begin to download and install.

  • Another way to do it is to click Learn More below the Looking for info on the latest updates? from the Windows Update option.

This option would take you to the support page on Microsoft.com, allowing you to download the ISO file to your computer.

You should not think that you have been intentionally left out from the Windows 10 Update. This is because the update would be available around the world where Windows 10 is available. However, the Cortana update might only be rolled out on selected markets only.
