Recently, Gmail for Android has been receiving lots of features in the recent updates. One of the latest is the fact that now you can insert GIFs in emails with the help of the Gboard. Another great news is the fact that the GIF image gallery that is included in the Google Keyboard is pretty large, so that you can choose from lots of options. For now, the update seems not to support other types of GIF keyboards, which is kind of limiting for people who are not using Gboard.
Does it work only with Gboard?
The GIF images you add from other keyboard will appear as attachments, so they are supported in a way. However, other keyboards don’t allow you to use several GIF images in one message or intertwine them with text. With Gboard, you can insert the images quickly and easily in any mail, just like you do with any other app where you use the keyboard.
How do I do it?
You simply have to tap on the emoji button and then on the GIF button. Now you will see the gallery and you can choose from there whatever GIF you like. If you tap on it, it will be inserted in the email where you have previously left the cursor. With Gboard, you can insert several images in an email, plus you can mix them app with the text you insert.
The recent update follows another one that was really appreciated by the users, bringing some useful shortcuts. It also brought faster searches, graphical overhauls and the option to snooze emails for a later decision. All of this made Gmail a favorite when it comes to a useful and practical mail app. Moreover, one other advantage it has is the fact that it can interact with other email account besides Gmail ones.
