WhatsApp is, without a doubt, one of the most popular instant messaging services in the world. As you most likely now by now, the app has been Facebook-owned for quite some time, and it seems like the social media giant is making it keep up with its other in-house apps. With Facebook messenger as well as the actual social media profile app receiving more and more updates lately, WhatsApp seems to follow suit. For one, all Facebook and Facebook-owned apps seems to now have the story function incorporated into them.
Soon You Will Be Able To Send Personal Payments on WhatsApp
However, as per a report issued by The Ken, a new feature for WhatsApp seems to be coming to India any day now, namely the ability to send person-to-person payments through WhatsApp. If the rumors are in fact true, WhatsApp will be the first app of this kind to also provide this interesting feature. While it’s not clear yet if the feature will also be available overseas, we sure hope it will.
We have contacted WhatsApp for an official statement; however, nobody over at the app’s HQ responded yet, so the rumors are either fake, or the company is trying to keep everything a secret until the big launch, or at least after they have everything figured out.
After all, implementing such a function into a messaging app does take quite a bit of technical tweaking, and issues are sure to arise from time to time. One of the reasons for which personal banking apps sometimes crash or work improperly is that there are many wheels in motion when trying to transaction currency online.
However, if the rumors do turn out to be true, we’re pretty sure it’s gonna be awesome. Just imagine you will be able to send money to anyone, anytime and with minimum effort.
