Tips and Tricks for the Pokemon Go Update and how to Evolve Gen 1 and Gen 2 Pokemon
Not too long ago, Niantic has incorporated Pokemon from the Second Generation of the Johto region into Pokemon Go. This will mean more evolution options for players and as such there will be more things to consider when doing so.
First Steps
When considering to evolve your Pokemon, it will be important to see what his Combat Power or CP is as this will be a crucial factor for him when he battles against other Pokemon. If his Combat Power is high this means he will have a greater chance of coming out as the winner in the fights he will take part in.
An alternative is that trainers will catch or hatch Pokemon that will possess high CP but most of the time Pokemon will require powering up or evolving in order for them to achieve much higher levels of CP.
Gen 2 Pokemon
Reports from Eurogamer show that some of the Generation 2 Pokemon that will get introduced in the game require certain special items before you can evolve them. As an example, Politoed and Slowking require a King’s Rock, while Sunflora and Bellossom will need a Sun Stone item for that. Some Pokemon like Scizor, Porygon2, Steelix and Kingdra will also require certain special items in order to evolve them.
Evolving your Pokemon
In order to evolve a Pokemon you will need to use Candy, but this is not something that is easily done because you will need a very specific type and number of Candy for each individual Pokemon. However, you can use Stardust in order to power up the pokemon and it’s the most general way people increase their Combat Power and make them much more efficient in their fights.
