Driving at 100mph in car that’s equipped with a gas guzzling engine is awesome but truth be told, it hurts the environment. Therefore, all major vehicle manufacturers are looking for new types of fuel to provide their cars with horsepower while preserving the environment at the same time. Obviously, Tesla is making huge progress with its electric cars, but Hyundai is taking it to the next level.
Hyundai Hydrogen Fuel Cell-Powered SUV
Hyundai has recently been spotted testing its brand-new hydrogen fuel cell-powered SUV. The car will be available for sale during early 2018 which leads us to believe that Hyundai is planning to reveal it in the upcoming future. In addition, Hyundai is not even bothering to cover up the test vehicle which makes it more plausible that the new car will be unveiled in the next weeks.
Official Unveil Date
As previously mentioned, all signs are pointing towards an early unveil. If we were to take our guess, Hyundai is probably going to unveil its new SUV during next week’s 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show. The reason we strongly believe this is because California is one of the few places that hydrogen is available for purchase to anyone.
Fuel Range
Even though Hyundai wants to keep all the important information a secret until the SUV is officially unveiled, the vehicle manufacturer did come out and say that its new hydrogen fueled SUV will cover a range of almost 500 miles.
In addition, Hyundai also said that the new fuel cell stack is 20 percent lighter and 10 percent more efficient than the already existing Tucson Fuel Cell which features a range of only 265 miles. We should also mention that the Tucson Fuel Cell is being sold for $499 per month on a 36-month lease and $2,999 due upfront. This gives us an idea of how much Hyundai’s new fuel cell will cost.
