Nokia produces the Asha lines of phones as a budget phone. However, Microsoft bought the mobile device side of Nokia and, shortly after that, ended the Asha line to put attention more on developing Lumia Windows Phones and the other Nokia phone-related products. And, great news, WhatsApp still offers support for its messaging application on the phone.

Be sure your device can install WhatsApp. If it can, you can continue with the following steps.
Go to the Main Screen on your phone. Open the phone’s Internet Browser.
Type in the following link: http://www.whatsapp.com/s40. While the link does direct to the Nokia S40, the link will also work with the Asha phone.
Hit Download Now and follow the instructions.
