ShowBox: Should You Be Using It or Not

TNH Online · May 13, 2018 · Leave a Comment

Millions of users from around the world use ShowBox to watch free TV shows and movies. However, despite people using it, some wonder just how legal ShowBox is. What should you know about ShowBox?

It Works On An Array of Devices

Even though people assume ShowBox is an Android-only app, you can actually use ShowBox on your computer, smartphone or tablet. However, you need to do a workaround to get the app playing on Kindle Fire devices, PCs and Macs.

You either stream videos or download them to your device to watch later on. Most people opt to stream via torrents, but there are some issues with copyright infringement you need to be mindful of.

What Are The Risks?

If you decide to use ShowBox for your entertainment needs, you need to understand the risks of using it. First off, you can’t get it from Google Play Store. The reason is that you can watch pirated content through it, meaning you have to download the app from a third-party source.

Bear in mind that no official websites are available to deal with your questions if you notice something off. The biggest issue with ShowBox is that more than one million people are worried about viruses hidden within the ShowBox download file. While you can find a clean copy of it, there may be bugs. For example, some people have noted broken subtitles, issues with videos, popup ads, box video quality, etc.

If you do have problems, there is no support available to address it. If something goes wrong, you have to deal with it yourself. The only time you should download it is if you’re sure you’ll benefit from it. If you don’t know if you’re downloading from a reputable source, don’t download it.

Are There Any Legal Problems?

Any app like ShowBox should have legal issues. After all, you’re downloading pirated material that you don’t own or that you’re not paying for. The law has yet to catch up to the present – to curb them. Some legal actions have been enacted to deal with the pirated content – think pay-per-view boxing matches.
If you decide to watch already-owned movies or TV shows through ShowBox, then you’re fine. However, if you’re downloading it for personal reasons, without considering the legalities, you could be in huge trouble.
