Popular Communications App Skype is Downloadable for Free

There are several applications available to get in touch with your friends and family online for free. Among these web-based communication tools, one of the most popular is Skype. This call and messaging app allows users to engage in international calls, video chats and text messaging with internet connectivity.

While there is a fee for making calls to landlines and mobile phones, the rates are flexible and low. Moreover, with its business functionalities, it allows to make video conference calls for up to 250 participants. Developed by Microsoft, Skype is compatible with MS Office tools, such as, PowerPoint, Outlook and Microsoft Word.

While one Skype account can be used for a plethora of devices, including, tablets. Xbox, TV, wearables, mobiles and desktops, downloading Skype is easy and for free. It is also available in several platforms like Android, Windows, Linux and iOS.

For Android users, Skype and Skype for Business is available via Google Play Store. Simply go to the Play Store page and type “Skype” in the search bar. Next, choose for the appropriate Skype app you will see on the screen and start the installation. After creating an account which can be via your email or mobile phone number, you can now enjoy the features of Skype.

Skype can also be downloaded from your laptop or desktop. Just type in the link www.skype.com/en/download-skype/skype-for-computer/ and you will be brought to the download page. Simply follow the instructions and you can use Skype right away.

Creating a Skype account is also easy. However, see to it that you create a strong and secure password to avoid putting your account security at risk. Also, do not accept Skype invitations from people you do not know.

The latest Skype version for Android id version 7.17 which offers simplified sign-in for users with Microsoft accounts. With this version, streamlined contact discovery for the phone numbers of user accounts is also available.

Skype also has a language translator tool for different languages so more people can enjoy this video and messaging app. Recently, real-time Skype translation tool can now be used for calls to mobile phones and landlines.
