The Whys and Hows of Downloading Google Earth and Earth Pro

TNH · February 10, 2017 · Leave a Comment

Whether you’re a certified geography nut or just a super fan of Google Maps who wants to take things to the next level, you won’t go wrong with using Google Earth and Google Earth Pro. These two programs give you access to a wide range of features that will satisfy your personal curiosity and even help improve your business. The question now is this: which program should you choose?

Choosing Google Earth

Google Earth is the right choice if you want to access the rich and detailed geographic content that Google has to offer. With this program, you can explore outer space, dive to the depths of the ocean, and enjoy seeing places in 3D birds’ eye view. You’ll also have access to historical imagery and see what your town or city looked like years or even decades ago.

You can even create your own virtual tours if you want. Simply create a customized GPS track by choosing the places you want to include in it, along with a personalized timeline and accurate terrain patterns. You can then share the track with your family and friends. This is helpful if you’re planning a trip with your loved ones or if you’ve just returned from a vacation and want to recreate your journey.

Opting for Google Earth Pro

Google Earth Pro is geared towards business owners and anyone who needs more in-depth geographic data. Through Earth Pro, you’ll have access to measurement tools to compute exact distances and land areas. You can also use tools that allow you to instantly map numerous addresses from a single spreadsheet and import vector image files that make it easy for you to map geographic information system (GIS) data. You’ll even get to print high-resolution images of maps, which you can use in your reports and presentations.

How to download these programs

If you decide to get Google Earth or Earth Pro, you’ll need to visit the official product page. Once you’re in the webpage, click on the “Download Google Earth” button on the lower left part of the screen or on the “Download Google Earth Pro” button on the lower right part. Remember: both of these programs are free, so there’s no need for you to pay anything!
