Google Nexus 2016 To Be Released In May 2016

TNH Staff · January 4, 2016 · Leave a Comment

According to reports, the release of the upcoming Google Nexus 2016 will happen sometime in May, when Google’s annual I/O Developers Conference will take place. Google will bring a tablet and smartphone combo this year. Huawei and LG are predicted to come back and help Google in making the “new-generation” devices.

Google Nexus 7 is expected to make a comeback in 2016, as Google will release a third generation variant of the device. According to Phone Radar, a Weibo post from an unnamed tipster suggested that Google is already working on the upcoming tablet and Huawei will most likely use the design based on the Nexus 6P device that was released last year.

On the other hand, LG is the company that will work on the upcoming Google’s high end smartphone. We remind you that LG has developed two of the most popular Nexus smartphones for Google, such as the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5. In 2015 LG has made a “mediocre” Nexus 5X that was pretty well received by the users.

Unfortunately, nobody knows the specifications and features that the upcoming Google Nexus 2016 will come with, but according to reports, the device is expected to run on the new Android N operating system. We’re not sure yet what “desert” name Google will use for the Android “N”, but it could be “Nutella” or “Nougat”.

In a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything), Glen Murphy, the Android and Chrome UX director, confirmed that the big search engine company is currently working on ways to make the Android OS a more “work-friendly” platform.

It seems that the developers are currently spending a lot of time on the multi-window   feature and they will most likely share it with us pretty soon. The upcoming Android N OS will surely come with many new features, but we will most likely hear more about this sometime in May, when the big search engine company will hold its annually I/O Developers Conference.
