According to the latest updates in the field, the Pixel launcher has been taken off from the Android O developer preview that has been launched recently. We’re talking about the unofficial version of this Launcher, which has been made available by one of the XDA Developers community member, who goes under the name Linuxct.
What is it like?
Reports have shown that the new version of the Pixel Launcher, designed for the Android devices, is great, even though at the moment it has some issues with the bugs. It is natural to be so, since it has been released quite recently and it has not been tested enough so as to remove all the bugs. Generally, people believe that it’s a good opportunity to test the features of the new update on the Android devices.
Precautions
However, you should treat this carefully, since there are some reports indicating that the update does not work well on all devices. Some people discovered that the update doesn’t work at all on tablet devices, for example. Slash Gear reported that the new version of the Android O Pixel Launcher is tightly connected to the Android O preview software.
Even so, it seems that the APK file is safe to download, since the connection for the new version was lifted in order to allow people to test it out. Valuewalk also reported that the APK version of the Pixel Launcher does not represent the complete Launcher, despite the fact that users interact great with it. Keep in mind that this is just a part of the next Android version that comes complete with totally new experiences.
Moreover, the new version is a limited one, since the APK was extracted from the original launcher build. If you still want to test it, you can go to the XDA Developers and tap on Download.
