Rumors about the release date for The Sims 5 have picked back up again however they come with a new release date; according to these rumors, the game will be revealed next year and will be released shortly after.
Previously, it was thought that The Sims 5 would be released alongside the next console generation some time between 2018 – 2020.
New rumors about the game have suggested that it will now feature Augmented Reality based gameplay however, it’s uncertain exactly how this would work. The Sims has always been a PC focused series and using AR is slightly more difficult for this platform.
It’s possible that this new “The Sims 5” game the rumors are referring to is actually a new mobile game for the series.
The recent popularity of Pokemon Go certainly has more developers looking at using AR in their games however, previous rumors for The Sims 5 suggested that EA will be using Virtual Reality with the game instead.
