Steve Saleen, who is known for modifying Mustangs and for creating the S7 supercar has announced that he and his company are getting ready to unveil a brand-new car. The car is known as the 2019 Saleen 1 and its design has been recently unveiled. Right off the bat, we need to mention that 2019 Saleen 1 will cost $100,000.

2019 Saleen 1 Prototype

Fortunately for us and other curious fans, Steve Saleen is not keeping the new car hidden away and he unveiled the prototype model during the recent 2017 LA Auto Show. 2019 Saleen 1 came out on stage in a bright orange color and in a design that’s based on Henrik Fisker’s Artega GTA. Nonetheless, the car looks amazing and it seems like its worth $100,000 just from a design standpoint.

Engine Specs

Considering that 2019 Saleen 1 features a price tag of $100,000, the car’s engine should be quite impressive and luckily, it is. The car will fit in the mid-engine sports car range and it will be fueled by a 2.5-liter turbo inline-four cylinder engine. We should note that most people expected it to ship with Artega GT’s Volkswagen-made 3.6-liter VR6 but this is not the case.

In terms of raw power, 2019 Saleen 1 will offer 450 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. In addition, the engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission, but a paddle-shifted automatic variant will also be available for purchase.

Top Speed

The car’s price tag is not the only thing that puts in the super car range. The second feature that makes 2019 Saleen 1 worthy of being called a super car is its top speed of 180 mph and the fact that it can go from 0 to 60 mph in only 3.5 seconds.
