A day in life of President Hart

Her time is priceless.

A small clip-on clock with a face no larger than a quarter never strays from her side. The clock, a gift from her husband, acts as a constant reminder of just how precious every minute of her time is. It helps her focus, tells her if she's late or behind schedule, or if she has an extra minute to answer a few e-mails before leaving her office for her next engagement.

The girls who cried wolf

Police arrested Martha Meacham, 21, of Plymouth on Wednesday and charged her with unsworn falsification.

Almost six months after University of New Hampshire police arrested Stefani Duelfer for filing two false police reports regarding assaults in B-Lot, police at Plymouth State University have had to deal with a similar incident.

Tuition is outpacing college aid

The good news is that tuition at public colleges and universities is not rising as sharply as in the last few years, the College Board announced last week.

The bad news, officials said, is that financial aid is not keeping pace.

As the College Board released its annual reports on college costs and financial aid, board president Gaston Caperton said officials are concerned that, for the third year in a row, students and their families were going deeper into debt to cover costs.
