ARAMARK Recognized with Two Awards by Food Management; ARAMARK Receives Best Customer Service Concept and Best Convenience Retailing Operation Awards
ARAMARK, (NYSE:RMK), a world leader in managed services, today announced that Food Management magazine has recognized it with two Best Concepts awards: the Best Customer Service Concept award for the new, research-based menu platform, Just4U(TM)-- Food that fits your life! -- and the Best Convenience Retailing Operation award for The George Washington University's District Market.
Best Customer Service Concept: Just4U(TM)--Food That Fits Your Life!
Based on its proprietary DiningStyles(TM) research findings, ARAMARK developed Just4U(TM) to make it easier than ever for diners to find and enjoy menu items that fit their personal nutritional style. Just4U(TM) features over 1,000 new, healthier menu items with easy-to-understand nutrition information and bold menu identifiers to make it easier for diners to find the foods that are right for them, including Carb Counter, Cal Smart, Low Fat, Heart Healthy, Vegetarian and Vegan. These flavor-packed menu items have been tested for nutritional value and accuracy by dozens of ARAMARK chefs and registered dietitians. In addition, ARAMARK's foodservice employees undergo extensive training and certification to ensure the nutritional consistency of each menu item.
"Americans are clearly seeking more nutritional balance and consistency in their meals away from home. Our project team of chefs, dietitians, operators and marketers developed Just4U(TM) to better match our menu offerings with the unique customer preferences of each location," said Chris Malone, ARAMARK Senior Vice President of Marketing. "The enthusiastic feedback we've received from customers and clients at Just4U(TM) locations has confirmed the progress we've made. We're very proud of our Just4U(TM) project team and are honored to be recognized by Food Management for their achievements."
Best Convenience Retailing Operation: The George Washington University's District Market
The District Market, a 12,000-square-foot food emporium on the ground floor of The George Washington University's student union, was built to accommodate students' needs. Through research conducted on campus by ARAMARK and The George Washington University administrators, it was concluded that the students wanted an on-campus supermarket. Students are now able to shop using "Colonial Cash," their student dollars, to purchase goods at the District Market.
"At The George Washington University, we found that forty-nine percent of students visited local grocery or convenience stores to stock up on home food fixings. We created the District Market to address this demand," says Chris Hackem, President, ARAMARK Campus Services. "We are committed to being a valued partner to GW. Our innovation and partnership with GW has proven to be very successful."
The District Market is equipped with a full deli, bakery, a rotisserie station, produce and natural food lines that include organic items, health and beauty aides, a DVD rental service, and an online grocery. In addition to all the traditional shopping aisles, the District Market offers an extensive home-meal replacement section complete with sushi, organic foods, vegetarian and vegan items, and even kosher foods, such as kosher sushi.
