Back in October, Google has announced its Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the operating system that will replace the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Over the past few months, we’ve seen the Nexus devices receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA Update along with other new devices manufactured by companies such as Motorola, HTC or LG.
According to the latest rumors the LG G3 and LG G Stylo will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update in the near future. According to GSMArena, this was confirmed by Jaroslaw Bukowski, a LG Poland executive producer, on his twitter account.
However, soon enough the tweet has been deleted, which means that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow is still tested on the two devices we’ve mentioned above. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update for LG G3 and LG G Stylo will probably be released sometime in January-February 2016.
Moto G 2015 Received The Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA
As most of you already know, the Moto X Pure Edition, Moto X Play and Moto X Style along with other older Android devices manufactured by other companies, have already received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA Update.
According to the latest reports, the newest Moto G device has started to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update right after the Christmas holiday weekend. This was also confirmed by multiple other reports, which say that the Moto G 2015 (3rd generation) has received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA Update.
Keep in mind that this update has been released only for the unlocked version of the Moto G 2015 that was sold in the US on either BestBuy or Motorola stores (not from carriers).
Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow
Google has recently released Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, which comes with around 200 new emojis and very other small changes. Unfortunately, the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OTA update will probably be released for the “non-Nexus” devices sometime in Q2-Q3 of 2016.
