The Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update has already started to be announced by any big manufacturing company out there, so it’s not surprising that this new operating system version is now being prepared for some Xiaomi smartphones.
The Xiaomi Mi Note, Mi3 and Mi4 will be the first three devices from Xiaomi that will benefit from this new update. It seems that the compatibility between the software and the phones is currently reaching the final stage.
We remind you that Xiaomi was heavily criticized by many people for using the Android KitKat for the MIUI 7 instead of using it for the newer version, the Android 5.0 Lollipop. The main reason it was criticized is the fact that the Android Lollipop version comes with many improvements to the performance and compatibility and it is way better than any previous installment on all levels.
The updated MIUI for these three devices will have a size of 512MB. With other words, once the update will be released, we suggest you to connect the smartphone to a Wi-Fi network or else you will waste a lot of mobile data.
According to reports, the new update will improve the battery life of your device of over 10%, it will allow you to view XXL-sized text and you will also have access to other options such as “Child mode” or “Showtime”.
Unfortunately, there is no release date of when this new update will come for the Xiaomi Mi Note, Mi3 and Mi4 devices. We’re not sure yet when the tests for other Xiaomi smartphones will begin for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but hopefully this will happen soon.
Xiaomi will most likely make an official announcement about the release date of the MIUI 7 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, for the mentioned devices, sometime in January 2016.
