Apple hasn’t confirmed that the iPad Air 3 is in the works, but there are plenty rumors pointing out that the tablet will be released in 2016, with upgraded specs and new features. The iPad Air 3 should have been launched this fall, but instead, Apple has announced the iPad Pro, the largest and most powerful tablet ever created by the American multinational technology company headquartered in Cupertino, California.
Apple is still very secretive regarding this tablet, but there are already reports saying that the iPad Air 3 will be unveiled in March 2016, during some important event where the company is expected to launch other devices such as the Apple Watch 2, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro 2016.
The iPad Air 3 will most likely come with big improvements, in order to please the disappointed fans who criticized Apple for not doing everything possible to bring major upgraded to the current tablet. And the fans are right, because it’s pointless to follow the annual release pattern and to bring a slightly upgraded device, which doesn’t create a buzz around it. But, we’re not saying that the iPad Air 2 isn’t a worthy product. It only needed more improvements, that’s all!
However, the iPad Air 3 is expected to come with a more powerful processor, which will be the A9 from the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. The screen resolution will be improved, and the RAM capacity might be increased to 3GB. The FaceTime camera and the software will receive minor improvements, while the chassis will be made of Series 7000 aluminum, which is more durable. The rumors say that the tablet will be thinner (5mm), meaning that the battery will be reduced, and its lifespan will be shorter.
Unlike the iPhone 6S/6S Plus, which introduced a Rose Gold color, the iPad Air 3will come with the traditional variants of colors: silver, space grey and gold.
