HTC One A9 vs. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge – An In-depth Evaluation

HTC One A9 has landed in the smartphone industry and can take on the likes of Apple or Samsung anytime. But, in this comparison, we’ve decided to see how the HTC One A9 matches against the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.

Design, display, specs, camera and prices evaluated

The Galaxy S6 Edge is a stunner in terms of looks. You will love its curved edges and the fact that you can add your notifications or the night clock on one of the latter.

The S6 Edge has a metal chassis and on the back panel it has Gorilla Glass 4 as well as a fingerprint scanner added in the home button. Color wise, you can find this smartphone in white and black and gold and green.

The HTC One A9 sports a metal chassis and has a similar antenna with that of the iPhone (back panel). It also rocks a fingerprint scanner and you can find it in a garnet shade, gray, silver or topaz.

The S6 Edge has a Super AMOLED display and it is a 5.1-inch device with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels and as far as density it has 577 ppi. The HTC One A9 has an AMOLED display and it measures 5.0-inch with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and 441 ppi.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is equipped with an Exynos 7420 chipset and an octa-core CPU coupled wiht Mali-T760MP8 GPU, which means super speed. The One A9 packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor and this is coupled with an octa-core CPU as well and an Adreno 405 GPU.

The S6 Edge has no card slot available for extending its memory while the One A9 can support up to 200 GB. As for the RAM, the HTC One A9 device has 2 GB or 3GB while Samsung’s device packs 3GB of RAM.

Camera wise, the one included in the S6 Edge is a 16 MP that also has OIS and this snapper has been rated successfully by lots of users while the HTC One A9 has a 13 MP shooter with less successful rates.

Price wise, the unlocked version of the HTC One A9 retails for $500 whereas the Galaxy S6 Edge is priced at $229 and this implies a 2-year contract.
