Android Marshmallow Best Features and Improvements

TNH Staff · January 16, 2016 · Leave a Comment

Android Marshmallow is definitely Google’s finest work as it packs some sterling features. Google’s new Android version has a lot to offer, so here is what you’re in for:

Tiptop app drawer

With Android M, you have a tiptop app drawer, so you can look-up the apps you want a lot faster than before. You will now have to scroll down in a vertical way or you can use the search box to find the app you need.

Creative lockscreen messages

Google has come up with a neat way to make its software more personal. So, Marshmallow comes with a textbox prompt under the lockscreen. This means you get to customize the device by adding all sorts of creative quotes or even daily reminders.

Storage can be handled with ease

In today’s world, everything happens on your smartphones, thus the storage on the latter devices has increased tremendously. Android M 6.0 will allow you to handle your storage with a lot more ease. With the latter feature, you can see how much storage space you have left and what are you using it on: games, movies, recording videos etc.

Fingerprint scanner

The fingerprint scanner is not the new addition here, but it’s all about how you use it with the Android M. Now, Google made the fingerprint reader compatible with third-party applications such as Evernote. In-app purchases are also easy to perform, courtesy of Google’s new fingerprint scanner implementation.

USB Type-C

USB Type-C is definitely the icing on the cake, as you’ll get a faster connection. To understand its powers, image that the Nexus 6P is fully charged in 2 hours.

The all-purpose Now on Tap

Google Now is definitely Android Marshmallow’s top ace. It’s a really smart feature that is all about context, so your own personal assistant will be able to fully understand your needs and wants. Try it out, if you haven’t already!

The Doze feature

With the introducing of the Doze feature and its motion detection sensors, your smartphone will be turned off when it is not being actively used. So, each time the sensors detect that your device is not moving, every unnecessary action will cease ( Wi-fi, syncs, apps and so on). This will do wonders for the battery life span.
