Sony Xperia C4 and C5 Ultra Embraces Android 5.1 Lollipop Update

TNH Staff · January 20, 2016 · Leave a Comment

If you got a notification regarding an update for your Sony Xperia C5 Ultra or C4, you should know that this one is all about the Android 5.1 Lollipop and not the Android 6.0 M.

This might be a bit disappointing for most of you as the OEM clearly said that the forthcoming update would surely involve the Android M.

Sony made it cleared back in October that six of its gizmos, including the Xperia C4 and C5 Ultra were set to receive the newest Android mobile OS. The company wished to eschew the Android 5.1 Lollipop upgrade, but it seems like plans have changed. Do cheer up though as this is also a decent enough update and it’s better to have one than none, right?

If you’re wondering what this update will entail for your Xperia C4 or C5 Ultra device, you should know that you’re in for some nifty animations as well as various enhancements regarding the panel, HD voice options and of course the dual SIM support. We cannot forget to mention the improvements for the Device Protection, the screen pin element and several minor ones. So, if you come to think about it, it’s not that bad as you’ll have some new things to look forward to.

Even if it doesn’t measure up with the Android M, the Android 5.1 is definitely superior to the previous Android 5.0 version. Some of you might be happy with this release while others might still sigh over the Android M. However, if you come to think about it, now that this update has rolled out to these two Xperia devices, the next big update will surely be your yours truly, Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
