Microsoft is expected to confirm the highly anticipated Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and Microsoft Surface Book 2 at an event which is scheduled for October 2016. Some Windows device users also expect it to announce a new Surface Phone that is rumored to replace the Lumia Windows Phone lineup.
It was initially believed that the Microsoft Surface Book 2 and Pro 5 would be released sometime at the end of this year, but there are very little chances of that actually happening given that there’s not enough time between a supposed announcement of the devices in October and the actual release date for them.
The presumed announcement of the devices at the October event has sparked up a lot of rumors regarding their specs and some users believe that Microsoft has delayed any mention of the devices so far because it was waiting to release them with better processors. Those are believed to be the Intel Kaby Lake ones which are rumored to be scheduled for launch sometime at the end of this year.
According to The Verge, Microsoft hinted two months ago that it will release a new Surface device sometime this year and that the release will be followed by three more releases in 2017. If that is true, then we have to wonder which device will be released first? The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 or the Microsoft Surface Book 2.
Some users have suggested that the first device to be announced will not be either of these two. Instead, it will be an All-In-One Surface PC that has been dubbed Cardinal.
Whether or not if it’s the Cardinal, some new Surface Phone that will kill the Lumia lineup or the other two Surface devices, we’ll find put soon enough because there’s very little time until October gets here.
