With the first Android update for the Huawei Mate 9 being a great success, now the time has come for the other one. In fact, the new update has been available since January if you wanted to look for it yourself, and now it seems that it’s massively rolling out in an over-the-air manner to all devices. This new update bring with it lockscreen control of third party music players, as well as improved touch sensitivity for the display, much to the delight of avid mobile gamers.
The build number for the update is MHA-L29C185B172 and has a size of about 511MB. Battery life will also be improved by this update. If you haven’t received the update yet OTA, then you might want to check out Settings > About device > System updates. However, it’s expected that most devices will receive the update shortly, but if you can’t wait then we suggest you check it out for yourself.
No Seamless Updates Yet
As far as past Huawei past updates go, it has become obvious that the Mate 9 doesn’t receive seamless updates, although that should have been the case starting with Android 7.0, and the Google Pixel has a similar feature. Receive seamless updates basically means that any Android updates that come up would occur in the background and be activated once the phone has been restarted.
This is good news for those of us that are tired of wasting time updating your devices, and maybe the Huawei Mate 9 will get this soon. Only time will tell. In the meantime, the current update takes around 5 minutes to install, so that’s not so bad, is it?
So, did you receive your second Android update on your Huaweri Mate 9? Did you notice any improvements? Let us know.
