The Samsung Gear S3 and the Huawei Watch 2 are two of the latest watches that have garnered attention from the public and at a first glance it would seem that they are very similar in terms of specifications and functions. Both types have a few different variants of the same smart-watches.
Samsung Gear S3 that has been released some months ago, has been remarked for its quite bulky size and since then, a number of similarly sized smart-watches have been released to the public. And while the Huawei Watch 2 is big, it measures just a bit under the S3
Case and Display
The Huawei Watch 2 watch is made out of plastic with ceramic made bezel and has a Gorilla Glass 3 display as a cover. The Watch 2 Classic variant has replaced the ceramic bezel with a stainless steel one. The two Gear S3 models are all made of stainless steel with a Gorilla Glass SR+. Which is a variant of the Corning glass designed for wearables.
As far as coloring goes, the only the Huawei Watch 2 has color differences but these are dependent on whether or not a LTE connectivity is desired. The Black version is available to both the LTE Editions and the Bluetooth only variants, while the Orange is LTE-only and the Gray version only has Bluetooth.
All of them have a GPS module installed as well as a Hearth Rate Sensor. The Huawei Watch 2 is issued with an Android Wear 2.0, on the other side, the Gear S3 has a Tizen Operating System installed. Android Wear 2.0, is a new OS which started appearing on devices earlier this month and has a number of advantages. Firstly, it has a watch version of Google Playstore, so you do not have to make use a phone to download and synchronize your apps. It has a Google Assistant built in and fully featured voice control modules which are more robust than the Samsung S Voice counterpart.
