Range Rover SVAutobiography takes on Bentley Bentayga – Battle for Luxury and Speed

Bentley Bentayga

Range Rover is always mentioned when someone talks about luxury cars. Land Rover, the company who produces the Range line struck gold when it came up with the SUV’s “mean-looking” design. The reason we are saying this is because Range Rover is one of the best sold SUVs in the world and there’s no other company that can compete with it.

However, Range Rover might finally have something to fear since a new competitor appeared on the scene. The new car that’s going to compete head on against Range Rover is none other than the recently unveiled 2017 Bentley Bentayga. No wonder these two brands compete against each other because Bentley is also associated with luxury, just like Range Rover.

2016 Range Rover Specs

The world’s most popular SUV is priced around $103,195 and its fueled by a supercharged 5.0-liter 8-cylinder engine. The huge engine is perfect for the 2016 Range Rover because this SUV is quite heavy. Nonetheless, the engine puts out 510 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 461 ft-lb of torque at 2500 rpm. The engine is also mated to an 8-speed shift able automatic transmission.

2017 Bentley Bentayga

Right from the start, we need to mention that the 2017 Bentley Bentayga is way more powerful than the 2016 Rover since its equipped with a twin-turbo 6.0-liter W-12 engine which generates 600 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. The engine is coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission and it reaches a top speed of 187 mph in only 3.6 seconds.

When it comes to design, both cars inspire luxury. Every driver that’s going to step inside this car is going to feel awesome and this is why it’s hard to compare them against each other. Although, Range Rover is known for its beauty and imposing size thus, it wins in the design battle.

Final Words

While the two SUVs can be considered close equals, its clear that there are some differences between them. Bentley’s latest SUV is faster and more powerful while Range Rover looks better. Therefore, it falls unto customers to choose the car that fits their needs the most.
