There is a reason to celebrate if you have received a Google Play credit through your email account. In fact, you can use it to spend on Amazon, and any other popular stores online. However, it is good to know that there are certain exceptions or restrictions related to Google Play credit.
You must redeem your credit card by first going to the Google Play Store. Then, you need to tap the button for Menu and choose Redeem. When you are prompted, you have to type the code and choose Redeem.
When you have already redeemed the gift card, spending it right away is possible. Here are a few tips on how you will be able to spend it on Amazon. But this requires a little sideloading, which you need to install apps from other sources. Don’t forget to enable “Unknown Sources” option when you are going to install apps from third parties.
Take note that if you are using a Kindle device, the Play Store is not available. Therefore, you have to open your Web browser in order to visit the official Google Play Store site. Turn off the “Unknown Sources” option after successfully installing the app.
Amazon App Store is the officially recognized source for apps for the Kindle device. So, you have to begin from the top of the home screen and swipe down and choose “More”. Tap on the Device > Allow Installation of Applications and turn the “Unknown Sources” On or Off. You will have to follow this if you want to install it on a Kindle device.
Additionally, you can send Google Play Credit to a recipient. All you have to do is to open the Google Play Store app. Then, tap the Menu button and choose “Send gift”. Choose the gift and follow the instructions onscreen in order to buy and send your gift.
